What is the difference between the Agency and other sites on the internet?

There are many differences between our web presence and other sites. The most important one is that we are a full fledged agency. We offer all the protections that a “brick and mortar” agency does without the pre-judgments you may encounter with such an agency. Unlike some agencies or simple posting sites that do nothing to protect the Artist's work, we protect our Client/Members' work with a meticulous adherence to industry security standards. You control who sees your work and when they see it.

No. It is not the purpose of any agent to make value judgments of hard-working people that have spent years developing their art.

Can I make my contact information visible to persons that are not clients?

Yes, request a link to your Agency business card which includes your name, phone number and e-mail address. You can include the link on a personal webpage, Facebook or other web media.

Who are these Producer/Employers?

The Agency is open to the world entertainment market and is in contact with film and theatrical producers, art gallery owners, publishers, orchestras, nightclubs, etc. As our Client/Member, you will have the advantage of this exposure.

How much does it cost?

Managers charge up from 20% to as much as 35%. Most agencies charge 10%. For what? Global Artist Agency charges a lower percent for a simple, on-line transaction. If further assistance is needed, new charges may be applied. There is an annual membership fee upon registration to cover the cost of management services including uploading your material, storage, and general overhead. This is for one year. Sign up as a Client/Member to take advantage of this offer.

Can I sign up at no charge?

Of course, we are in the business of representing any and all talent. Therefore, we provide a simple Client Only option that will allow you to obtain all the benefits of a traditional agency representation. Sign up as a Client/Only to take advantage of this option.

How do I compare the Client/Only with the Client/Member?

First there is the cost, Client/Only is free and Client/Member is $250 USD for a single yearly payment. Second is the commission Global Artist Agency charges for representing you: 10% for Client/Only and 3% for Client/Members. Third are the benefits Client/Members receive, e.g. interact with others on a web-based site, etc. Fourth is the "breakeven" point where the savings of a 3% commission on earnings for Client/Members (versus 10% for a Client/Only) outweigh the cost of a membership. Given a $250 USD Client/Member membership fee and a 7% commission difference between Client/Only and Client/Members, the breakeven point is $3,571.43.

Where does my membership money go?

Your membership fees help us with Client/Member information and property storage, Agency promotion, web-site development, site security, licensing fees, agency personal and other business related expenses.

How can I pay for my subscription?

The Agency accepts all major credit cards. Contact us for alternative forms of payment.

What happens to my credit card information?

Be advised: when you purchase Agency products from your credit card information (credit card numbers), it gets passed it along to CyberSource, a loading credit processing organization where it will be processed. The Agency does not keep your information.

How does your Agency's commission work?

When a Producer/Employer contract's a Client/Member's work, he pays the agreed-on fee into the client's Agency trust account. Your account will be deducted by 3%. This is the commission. From here, the client may draw on it. (It is his/her money, and he/she can request a check from the Agency.) Note: there may be other associated fees. The Agency will manage these as well.

Under some circumstances, you can suspend your subscription and reinstate at a later time.

Absolutely, the Agency recognizes your privacy and we do everything to allow you to maintain it.

Will the Agency alert me to events in my area?

The Agency will post select global events on the website. Also, you may expect informational e-mails relevant to your area and discipline.

I already have an agent. Can you help me?

Yes, we can. Your agent can find us a useful resource. We are happy to work with all representatives. Our job is to help our members get what they desire.

How do you work out payments with my agent?

The typical agent takes 10% (managers more) of any deal made. Whatever arrangement you have with your agent/manager, we only asks for a fraction of that.

Can I use a pen name, stage name, or moniker?

Of course you can.

Can I sign up my child for representation?

The Agency is open to all, and we are happy to represent anybody who wishes to join us. Of course, minors need parental or guardian approval and subject to additional safeguard.

How do I submit my work to your Agency?

We offer an online utility through our website that will help you send your work to our secure system.

Can I put my résumé online?

Yes, you can. We call that your online profile. If you work in multiple disciplines, you can have multiple accounts with us and a specialized profile for each one.

What formats are accepted when sending my material to the website?

Our web sites accepts most file formats. If you have difficulty sending us your work or would like to use a different format, we are there to help you.

How will Producer/Employers find me? Or my work?

The Agency website offers a search engine for our Member/Clients that allows potential producer/buyers to search both by pen name and title, keywords, genres, or types of work. A producer/buyer can search multiple categories. (We are always looking for better ways to help Producer/Employers find our Client/Members.) We are updating our search engine to facilitate a more robust service.

Can I describe myself and my work?

When you register, you create your profile. This describes who you are (ie your résumé). When you upload your work you will have the opportunity to describe what you are presenting.

Can I make contact with other Client/Members?

The website offers each member his or her own blog. You can write about whatever else you feel will promote your talent. You may even invite other members to join you. For example, an author needing illustrations for his manuscript can put the word out to other members through his blog.

Of course. As your representative we have the ability to help you follow-up with potential buyers.

How do I know who is requesting my work?

The Agency's website will send you an e-mail giving names and details about any interested producer/buyer. Since you are in control of the entire process via our unique and innovative approach, you will know who is requesting your work and when. You will give the final permission for somebody to download your work.

Can I follow-up when somebody has downloaded my work?

Yes, you will have the contact information of the person who has your work. We will also be happy to assist you in follow-up negotiations upon request. The Agency respects the artist and you are always in control.

Professional Service Providers

What is a Professional Service Provider?

Anybody listed on our website who can help you with your career needs; script doctors, illustrators for authors, coaches for actors, and so forth.

How do I purchase a service from a Professional Service Provider?

With our Agency, before you purchase a service you have the opportunity to evaluate the vendor. When you reach an agreement with the vendor, then the Agency will handle your payment from your Client/Member account. This allows you to consult and agree with the vendor prior to your commitment to purchase his/her services.

How can I report a problem with a Professional Service Provider?

The Agency provides an online form in which you can tell us about your experiences, both good and bad. Professional Service Provider's who receive too many complaints will be removed from the system. We listen to you.
